Ausgrid and NECA Training & Apprenticeships are partnering to provide career opportunities for First Nations People.
EmPower Program students 2023
Ausgrid's Empower Pre-Apprentice Program is specifically designed to support and mentor First Nations candidates interested in a career in the energy industry.

About the program

Commencing in June 2024 and running for six weeks, the EmPower program extended our existing apprentice partnership with NECA.

The Indigenous pre-employment program offers successful graduates a pathway to join our Bright Spark Apprentice Program and built a talent pipeline more generally into the energy industry.

Supported by Indigenous coaching business Mulga Gidgee, our pre-apprentices experienced all that Ausgrid offers, including training and supervision, mentoring, and personal development.
