ASPs and contractors

All companies and each of their workers and sub-contractors that wish to undertake design or contestable work on or near Ausgrid’s network area must be accredited and/or registered with the NSW Department of Planning and Environment and authorised with Ausgrid as an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) in the appropriate level and class.

Any work to design, construct or install assets that connect a customer’s installation to our electricity network is classed as contestable work. Customers may be required to fund some or all of the cost of contestable work and have the choice of selecting an ASP to carry out the work.

Customers seeking to connect to our network should apply for a connection. Customers seeking an ASP to carry out contestable work should visit Energy NSW.
