Decarbonising Sydney Report 

Today Ausgrid attended the launch of the Committee for Sydney’s latest report, outlining how Greater Sydney can meet its net zero targets. The Decarbonising Sydney report will help to inform the next steps in Sydney’s decarbonisation journey.

The report has reviewed Sydney’s current emissions and identified five key moves for Sydney to reach net zero targets by 2030; electrify Sydney’s transport options, sustainable building options, increase renewable energy incentives, prepare the energy grid with facilities to reward positive customer behaviour and to work collaboratively across Greater Sydney.

The energy grid is already playing a critical role in decarbonising Greater Sydney with 15 electric vehicle chargers installed across Sydney, three community batteries across the Ausgrid network and dynamic pricing trials underway. For Greater Sydney to reach its net zero targets it is important for industries to work together with customers and governments to achieve success.
