Ausgrid welcomes Electricity Supply and Reliability Check Up

Ausgrid supports the NSW Government’s response to the Electricity Supply and Reliability Check Up released today.

Ausgrid Chief Executive Officer, Marc England welcomed the actions Minister Sharpe is taking to accelerate the transition and support the development critical energy infrastructure.

Mr England said, “By accepting the majority of the recommendations in this Check Up, the NSW Government is, among other things, recognising the important role networks can play in engaging consumers to meet the State’s emissions reduction targets of 50% by 2030 and net zero by 2050.”

“The NSW Government is Ausgrid’s largest shareholder and we are proud to work together to benefit both the economy and communities across NSW.”

“We are focussed on designing new network services to leverage our role as the platform that can unlock the opportunities provided by flexible, customer owned energy resources like community batteries at as low a cost as possible.  We are excited and ready to drive a net-zero future that’s accessible to everyone, and with the NSW Government adopting these recommendations we are well on the way to delivering this together,” he said.
