Environmental Management System
Our Environmental Management System (EMS) is certified to international standard ISO 14001. It is used to identify environmental risks and put measures in place to effectively manage these risks.
The EMS includes policies, procedures and training to provide a basis for continual environmental improvement.
The scope of our EMS applies to all activities, products and services carried out by Ausgrid which may impact on the environment. Our EMS applies to all of our employees and operations, including those carried out by contractors.
We develop an annual Environmental Sustainability Improvement Plan, which sets objectives and targets to improve our environmental performance in areas such as pollution control, energy and water reduction, waste and carbon emissions.
Our Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy, Code of Conduct and specific Environmental Code of Conduct outline our commitment to the environment.
