Who to call

In a life-threatening situation, call 000.

Zaps, tingles, and shocks from electrical appliances and taps are emergencies and can be life-threatening, call 000 immediately.

To report hazards including fallen wires and poles, call Ausgrid on 13 13 88.

Stay at least 8 metres away from fallen powerlines. Always assume the power is ON and the wires are still live.

Safety around the electricity network

Bushfire prevention

Our bushfire prevention measures include regular inspections of powerlines, tree trimming, vegetation management and helicopter and drone patrols. We collaborate with the State Emergency Service (SES) and NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) to reduce the impact of bushfires on the network and improve safety for our employees and the community.
