How to reconnect your property to the Ausgrid network if you have been disconnected due to flooding.
Your premises may be disconnected by Ausgrid during flooding for safety reasons. If this occurs, we will leave a Customer Installation / Private Mains defect report (A.460) on site. The A.460 provides the detailed requirements of the steps needed to be undertaken to reinstate your supply, including what needs to be fixed and who to engage.
To reconnect your premises, you will need to do the following:
If you require assistance, call us on 13 13 88 or email .com.au.
A Level 2 Accredited Service Provider is able to restore power, provided the premises meets safety and compliance requirements and no defects are identified.
To find an ASP2, visit Energy NSW.
If your premises have been affected by flooding, you may be eligible for a waiver of your electrical connection fees and associated charges. You may also be reimbursed up to $600 of the costs incurred when your licensed electrician disconnects and reconnects you to the electricity network.
For information on fee waivers and reimbursement for flood affected customers, see our March 2022 Flood Assistance Package.
